THE SOUNDS - SOMETHING TO DIE FOR

The SOUNDS are now Indietronic, but curiously, the release of their new album is on a record label more known for Punk and Hardcore.

the sounds - something to die forSince their New Wave influenced debut with a discernible Punk attitude, the music evolved to Pop. New Wave and Pop elements are both still to be heard on the newest release – though the keyboard clearly dominates. The opening track begins with such an intro. The motto is given in the lyrics of track two, “Dance With The Devil”: “...we conquer our planet with dance...”.

The tracks that sound most similar to the previous albums are “The No No Song” and “Diana”. “Wish You Were Here” is the obligatory ballad that shouldn´t be missing on a THE SOUNDS album.

“Yeah Yeah Yeah”, with its Hip Hop components and lyrics like “...You don't float like butterfly or fight like Ali. Dress like Prince but to the lowest degree…“ is an exception to the new musical rule.

Existing fans might feel a little alienated by the revised sound concept. But it’s guaranteed THE SOUNDS will remain an attractive live band (not only because of frontwoman Maya’s sexy outfits) for exuberant dancers. The Swedish quintet will do a series of club and festival gigs in Germany already in June.
