ACOUSTIC ARTS LEAGUE - FLARE

The 47 years old musician works as a culture journalist and as a designer for CD-boxes, so it isn´t surprising that his fourth release of his music sampler is a must have! The CD "Big Top/Encore EP2" comes oout in a pink DVD-box, you can also use as a handbag ant the vinyl version contains extras like postcards and one-time-tattoos designed by Alex Lukas. But all this stuff isn´t really necessary for the catchiest and tightest album so far. "Does this sound appealing?" shines as a duett with Dana Kletter, the woman who replaced Courtney Love of Hole when she had no voice. There are great cover versions of The Real Tuesday Weld and the Psychedelic Furs - and the hit "Scenario", where Beghtol brings everything what FAAL is about, you won´t get out of your head! But don´t get yourself cheated by the pop-appeal of this album. If you listen to the lyrics carefully you will understand Beghtol´s dark poetry. He simply is the meanest songwriter on earth and he is proud of it!
