SOMETHING NEW NOW AND THEN: HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS

Huey Lewis and his News are welcome guests on DELUXE MUSIC.

The videos “I Want a New Drug” and “The Power of Love” resurrect the 80s and most probably put a grin on your face.

hues lewis and the newsHuey Lewis & The News did have twelve Top-10 hits in the American Billboard Charts between 1982 and 1988 after all. They contributed key songs featured on the soundtrack of the cult film franchise “Back to the Future”. Afterwards the Band that was formed in 1979 took a break.

Almost thirty years after the group’s formation and nine whole years after the last one, Huey Lewis & The News produced a new album. The object of pleasure is called “Soulsville” and offers 14 new tracks that don’t have much to do with the sound of the 80s. The album name says it all – blues and soul pieces are on offer. The band mined the vault at the legendary soul label “Stax Records”, and picked out their favorite pieces from the 60s and 70s for their own interpretation.

The result is an album for friends of genuine heart and soul, and an essential for fans of 60s soul music. It can’t be ruled out that Huey Lewis & The News might soon return on tour in Europe. More subdued, but definitely with the “Heart of Rock’n’Roll”!

Until then, keep your eyes peeled for the hits from Huey and his Band The News on DELUXE MUSIC.
