The news announced on February 2nd on The White Stripes’ official Blog shocked fans of the siblings White.
They stated the main reason (besides many trivial unspoken matters) they want to close the book on “The White Stripes” is to preserve what made the Band so special and keep the status quo – true to the motto “Stop While You’re On Top”.
They count on understanding from their all their fans and thank them in their Blog for past support. Meg and Jack White can be proud of their impressive 13-year career. In addition to 7 albums and 13 singles the legendary performances of the garage-rockers will be unforgotten. To mention only one: a one-note concert on July 16, 2007, at which Jack White emitted exactly one note (C#) and left the stage.
We at DELUXE MUSIC find it highly regrettable that such an exceptional rock music rarity won’t be creatively producing anymore, but we can understand the decision and hope that the artists will still be seen in another formation in the future.
