MARIAH CAREY IS A MOTHER

The twins were delivered by caesarian section in Los Angeles. The 5 lbs., 3 oz. baby girl arrived first and was followed by a baby boy, weighing 5 lbs., 6 oz. Their names haven’t been revealed yet, but they won’t be any typical wacky, crazy star names according to Carey’s husband Nick Cannon in a statement to the press.

Mariah Carey is “doing great” after giving birth via c-section. The new parents are thrilled about the coincidence that their children were born exactly on the date of their fourth wedding anniversary. Husband Nick visualized it so in advance and predicted while appearing in the American talk show “The Talk on Thursday” that he would probably spend the fourth wedding anniversary in the hospital.

On the day of the births the singer was said to be calm and composed, because she actually thought it was a false alarm. Her husband, who is 11 years younger, was in contrast so nervous that he found himself lost in the hospital and had to be led to the maternity ward. Scores of friends and colleagues congratulated in Web 2.0 manner – per Twitter (hashtag #dembabies) and sent the pair their best wishes. Under the congratulators was her longtime producer Jermaine Dupri and Alyssa Milano, who became a mother herself not long ago.
