The 42-year-old singer KYLIE MINOGUE wants to break into the film business. The Australian star already gained experience in the film industry in her youth.
She had a role in the Australian TV soap opera “Neighbours”. And now she wants to get back on a movie set – as director, not actress.
“I think there's a director in me somewhere as I get older and bossier. I love the community spirit of doing a film with other people around, rather than having your own trailer when you're a pop star,” said MINOGUE in an interview with the British newspaper Daily Star.
So why did she turn out to be a singer instead of actress? It surprises her until today, as she further revealed in the interview, “I don't know how I ended up with a music career that has lasted that long when I thought I'd just be an actress.”
Will the Grammy award winning singer give up her music career? She was completely open: “Whether I’m thinking about quitting? Yes! I say that at the end of every tour. And then something happens a few months down the line and I start thinking of songs and getting that itch…what can I say? I’m addicted!” So there’s hope that she won’t give up her music career completely after all.
KYLIE MINOGUE is presently on tour with her show “Aphrodite – Les Folies”. Since her international musical breakthrough in 1988 with the single “I Should Be So Lucky” Kylie advanced to a beloved pop and fashion icon. The interim balance: over 60 million sound carriers sold worldwide and the international recognition of countless awards. KYLIE MINOGUE – soon starring from the director’s chair?
