The bands participating in the 6th Berlin Festival have just been announced. The band Suede, reunited since 2009, is included.
Also appearing: The French electro-pop act Yelle, dub pioneers Kruder & Dorfmeister, techno master DJ Hell and the 80s legend Boy George are confirmed.
The festival organizers also announced their future cooperation with the biggest British festival promoter, Festival Republic Ltd., organizer of the festivals ‘Glastonbury’, ‘Reading’, and ‘Leeds’. Festival Republic itself is a subsidiary of the international operation Live Nation.
Last year, the event had to be cut short for security reasons – too many people pushing in at the entrance gates. This year, the stages will only be occupied until midnight. After midnight, the festivities continue in localities like Magnet, Arena Club, Lido, Glashaus, Comet and the Astra Culture House – the venues are all in popular Berlin Kreuzberg and during the festival are collectively called ‘Club Xberg’.
