BEASTIE BOYS’ SHORT FILM “FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT”

The Beastie Boys are Hollywood’s most popular Hip Hop Rebels - at least that’s the impression one gets by studying the all-star cast of the their new short film.

The Rap Legends, who won overnight fame with their album “License to Ill”, have released a 30‑minute short film named “Fight For Your Right”, based on the album single “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)”. The film start was May 3rd, simultaneously with the release of their new album “Hot Sauce Committee Part 2”. Even some Hollywood Blockbusters don’t have the glory of this film, with its list of high-profile Hollywood movie stars.

Danny McBride, Elijah Wood und Seth Rogen were cast as The Beastie Boys, together with Will Ferrell, Jack Black and John C. Reilly, who play the rappers getting on in the years. Stanley Tucci and Susan Sarandon play the bored parents who find their house destroyed after a wild party. One after the other, the well-known actors pass through: Rashida Jones, Will Arnett, Adam Scott, Rainn Wilson, Ted Danson, Roman Coppola, Steve Buscemi, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzmann, Alicia Silverstone, Laura Dern, Kirsten Dunst, Chloe Sevigny, Maya Rudolph, David Cross, and Martin Starr.

And the best thing is - the 3 Beastie Boys themselves, Adam Horovitz, Mike D and Adam Yauch, also the film’s directors, have roles as policemen!

The Film will be shown on deluxemusic.tv on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10 p.m.
