THE BLACK EYED PEAS

On June 28th, 2011 in the Esprit Arena, Dusseldorf. The alternative hip hop band from Los Angeles is one of the few that can make big venues rock.

That’s why it’s highly recommended not to miss the one and only concert in Germany on June 28th!

Ones who attended the one and only German concert 2010, despite having to travel over 600 km, posted in their Blog: “nobody stayed seated, even in the upper tiers. The mood was absolutely wicked!”

It’s no coincidence - the Black Eyed Peas established themselves in the mid-90s mainly as a live act in and around Los Angeles. The band – at that time still without front woman Fergie – was signed to Ruthless Records, the rapper Eazy-E’s label. And Eazy-E found the texts in the glorious times of rap much too positive and unfitting to his record label’s image. The band’s first album that had been in production for years never found its way to the record stores.

When Eazy-E died of Aids in 1995, new opportunities arose for the Black Eyed Peas. Jamie Gomez alias Taboo joined the band in 1997 and the first album “Behind the Front” with the front woman Kim Hill was released on the Interscope Records. It was their first, small, commercial success.

The big breakthrough arrived only in 2003 when Kim Hill was replaced by Fergie, originally planned to appear only as a guest artist. The band convinced Fergie to become a permanent member of the band and the first real breakthrough with the album “Elephunk”.

The rest is music history. The DELUXE music editorial department advises: get on the road and enjoy this concert!
